The Family History Group of Bathurst provides assistance to people researching their genealogy. The group meets each Tuesday afternoon in the library to discuss their interests and to share their resources.

In addition to web sites the library has databases such as Ancestry Library* which can trace families for generations; Internet History Resources provides images of historical documents. These records complement and build on information you can obtain from the online Pioneers and Births, Deaths and Marriages indexes available in the library.
Bathurst newspapers from as early as the 1840's are available on microfilm. There is also an index to Bathurst Cemetery and guides to cemeteries throughout the Bathurst Region.
The Library also provides a collection of genealogical material including State Archives of NSW resources in microform and accompanying finding aids and indexes.
If you intend to visit Bathurst Library especially to research your family's history, please be advised that specialist staff may not be available on weekends.
