Access to Databases

The Library provides access to databases.  These resources can be searched when you visit the library, or members can have access from home.  All you need to do is ask for assistance when you visit.

Web sites

The librarians at the Bathurst Library are experienced researchers, and can search the Internet with expertise. So if you have a question that you are unable to answer, come in and we will research it for you. We are also happy to advise you on web sites that might satisfy your enquiry.

Legal Information

Access to plain-language legal information through LIAC (the Legal Information Access Centre) is now available. The Library holds the Legal Tool Kit, a collection of plain language books which answer many everyday legal questions. You can also find LIAC's Hot Topics series which will keep you up-to-date with recent changes and current debates in the law. LIAC is an initiative of the State Library of NSW and the Law and Justice Foundation of NSW.

drug info @ your library

The drug info @ your library project is a joint initiative of the State Library of NSW and the NSW Premier's Department. This project provides a range of quality information about alcohol and drugs on a web site and in public libraries throughout New South Wales.

This collection in the Bathurst Library provides information on specific drugs, guides for parents, effects of drugs and how to quit. Experts in this field have assessed the resources and the links available through the web site for quality.

Australian Bureau of Statistics

As part of the Australian Bureau of Statistics Library Extension Programme, Bathurst Library holds a continually updated collection of statistical information. Most of this information relates to New South Wales and Australia. This includes everything from census results to the Basic Community Profile for Bathurst.
